A Message from Pastor Boyd
Frequently Asked Questions
After 17 years as the Lead Pastor, Dr. Boyd Hannold will transition into a new role here at PAC called Senior Pastor (Emeritus). Pastor Alex Chang will assume the role of Lead Pastor on October 22, 2023 and be responsible for leading the church and staff.
We believe in a healthy model of equipping and empowering the next generation of pastors and leaders. Meanwhile, Pastor Boyd has felt God’s leading to a new assignment. His ministry passions will continue in the area of refugee resettlement with our church and our newly formed 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Alliance for Refugees, and the Indian Diaspora in central New Jersey, while still being part of our Sunday preaching rotation.
One of the responsibilities of the Governing Board is to prayerfully consider individuals for the Lead Pastor role. Once Pastor Boyd shared his heart that God was calling him into a new season of ministry and stating that he believed Pastor Alex should be his successor, the Board created a selection/interview process. After creating a process, they devoted themselves to prayer regarding the leadership transition, which was ten months long. After this season of prayer, the Board formally interviewed Pastor Alex and called him to become the next Lead Pastor.
This role allows Pastor Boyd to serve in many areas within the life of our church, but frees him up to lead in other ministries, outside the church. He will continue to be on our staff, but take on more responsibility with AFR, Indian Diaspora outreach, and our denomination’s National Office.
Sunday, October 22, 2023. We will have one service at 10:30AM. After the service, we will have church wide BBQ in our backyard celebration and host a special Kids Fall Fest. You can register for the BBQ here.
